This policy explains what happens to information when you visit whatworkinvolves.com. You do not need an account to read anything here, and we do not ask for personal details to use the site.
Who we are
What Work Involves is an independent publication. For any privacy question or request, contact 269659595@qq.com.
What we collect
Server logs
Like most web servers, ours records the IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp of each request. These logs exist to keep the site running, to diagnose errors, and to block abusive traffic. They are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised.
Cookies
The site runs on WordPress, which may set cookies in three situations: a test cookie to check that your browser accepts cookies, a cookie remembering your name and email if you leave a comment, and login cookies if you have an account and sign in. Comment cookies last about a year; login cookies last up to two weeks unless you choose “remember me”. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Analytics and advertising
We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural analytics scripts on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any such script is deployed, and the change will be dated below.
Embedded content and outbound links
Some pages link to external sites, including some affiliate links. Once you follow one, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies, and it may set cookies. We do not control those sites.
If you email us, we keep the message and your address for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any correction it produces. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share the address.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share personal information with advertisers, because we do not have any.
- We do not build profiles of individual readers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, or to receive a copy in a portable format. California residents have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, email 269659595@qq.com. We may ask for enough information to identify the data in question — usually the email address you wrote from.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the publishing software patched and limit access to server data to those who need it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially, the revision date below changes with it. Continued use of the site after a change means the revised policy applies.
